Alright, if you’re a consumer and you’re considering picking up the new Xbox One console, then please, take a moment to listen to me. Before we begin, no, I am not a fanboy or a hater. I have no console Bias. I have a PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and a Gaming PC. Each has their pros and cons but now onto business….
(You can click the post to see the whole essay.)

Can we please stop freaking out about it until we actually SEE HOW IT IS IMPLEMENTED AND WORKS. Everyone is speculating and freaking out so much it is really super irritating.
Why don’t we wait until it is RELEASED to see how it really works, THEN FREAK OUT. God.

We already know about it, the only thing we don’t know at this point is how much the used game fee will cost and what games it will actually have (other than pre-rendered and live action trailers which is all they showed)

The essay part is what I was referring to in which there was a lot of speculating on the terrible money-grubbing things they could do with the new technology and how creepy it would be and such. Basically assuming the worst when we don’t know how they plan on using what they’ve introduced or if they’ll change it.
I dunno, I’ve never really had a bad experience with Microsoft, and any time they have fucked up they’ve fixed it and then some, so I’m more optimistic they won’t screw us over and everyone has just heard a howl and is screaming wolf and pulling out their shotguns without thinking. ._.

artist-confessions:

Science is art. Art is science. They work hand in hand, they basically are one thing if you think about it.
It always really bothers me when I hear and see people say that I gave up on art, or anyone who chose science or major that is wanted by society, over art. That may be true to some degree, but again, not the whole degree. There are people out there who just passionately love art and science equally, I for one do.
When people spat at me for saying I gave up on art or I chose the easy road, they do not understand how long I struggled to think about what I wanted to do with my life. My whole senior and junior year in highschool, I stayed up late at night, crying my eyes out because I did not know what I wanted to pursue or which one I should pursue: art or science. I love them so much, they are both my oxygen, my life support, my foundation in life. I know I could easily double major, but my parents do not allow it. If that was an option, then I wouldn’t be writing this confession to begin with. In the end, I chose science because I realized that I do not need a degree to call myself an artist. That could be said the same the other way around, you don’t need a degree to call yourself a scientist too. (The degree is basically the only way for society to recognize/accept you has a true scientist/artist anyway…)
Another point I would like to touch upon is that some people say that scientist can and never will be able to appreciate the beauty of art/nature the same was as an artist. Again, this may be true, but in my opinion, I think this is utter bullcrap. I am pretty sure the scientists that we all study in our textbooks did not do life threatening research half-heartedly (Marie Curie and Rosalind Franklin being examples of this.) I may not know them personally, but again, science is art and they saw the beauty in science, wanting to discover its mysteries, the art of life itself. Maybe artists and scientists view beauty differently, but that does not mean scientists will never understand beauty. This mostly bothers me because someone who I thought understood my struggle deciding what I wanted to do in life, outright said that I would never understand art because I chose the science route. This was a double hit to me, insulting my love for both science and art. Again, I think society is the one that puts these pressures and harsh opinions on these two subjects, creating misunderstandings.
How I mostly cope with this is that I incorporate science theories, thoughts, concepts, discoveries into my artwork. In life, science and art work together in harmony and I hope to show that through my artwork. I mean, why is the golden ratio appealing to the eye? Why is the sunflower mathematically perfect?
Again, this is just an opinion and I don’t expect people to agree with me all the time, I just hope it brings a little insight or understanding to whomever reads this. Take my opinion (or not) anyway you want. I love art and science wholeheartedly.

I am of the opinion that both art and science attract the same types of people having similar personalities. Almost everyone I’ve known that loves art has an equal affinity for science—or at least is fascinated by both. And vice versa. It’s jsut a trait that each share, wanting to know for the sake of knowing, and doing for the sake of doing and passion…just in different ways. :>
I was actually thinking about this this very morning. I know that whenever I hear my friends or others talking about their scientific professions…I sometimes wonder if I made the right choice picking art over geology. Even if it’s never been pressed upon me directly, I still get the feeling that going into art is ‘useless’ and I should have done something more respected and worth while. But somewhere a little voice tells me that it’s okay, keep going with art, trust me. So I do, and that’s my one little path of assurance I have that it’s going to be fine and I didn’t make the wrong choice.

DUDE IS READING ‘A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME’ BY STEPHEN HAWKING
I NEVER REALIZED

are you serious
I always assumed wizards just ignored science, because the fact that “magic” exists, can explain anything. But there are MuggleBorn wizards, ones who, until they were eleven, lived in the real world and learned science and things. Did they all just abandon that normal, muggle knowledge, like Harry did? It’s always been there, itching in the back of my mind.
FOUR FOR YOU SCIENCE WIZARD
YOU GO SCIENCE WIZARD

can we point out that he’s doing wandless magic too
like voldemort couldnt even do that shit
molly fuckin weasley couldnt fuckin do that
who are you

pretty sure this whole series has been about the wrong wizard guys

Plot Twist: He is able to do wandless magic because his comprehensive understanding of quantum physics means that he is the only wizard/witch to actually understand how magic works.

You could not possibly understand how happy this makes me.
I have hope for the wizarding world again.

Cartier Love bracelet
“Unlike traditional bracelets, which are either wide enough to slip them over the hand onto the wrist or can readily be opened in order to put them on, the Love bracelet is designed to be opened only using a special screwdriver that is supplied with every bracelet. The screwdriver is also available in the form of a necklace, allowing the bracelet to be “locked” onto one person while the “key” is kept around the neck of another as a symbol for their commitment to their relationship.”

Ooooooooooh god I have so many issues with this.
First off lets be blunt. You’re romanticizing a HANDCUFF. Handcuffs come with the connotations :: captured. imprisonment. lack of mobility. trapped.
Secondly, you’re saying I am someone’s PROPERTY. Because I cannot take this off when I wanna take a shower, I cannot take this off if it’s a super hot day on the beach and it starts to heat up and burn my skin (this actually happens with women’s jewelry a LOT more than you think it does. Usually with either the really low grade stuff that is made of one total metal, or some of the high-grade steel/platinum heating up), I cannot take it off if we’re having a fight and I simply don’t want to be reminded of you.
I am reduced to wearing a badge of being your property until you say so.
Which is my third point.
This entire bracelet gives you the mindset that “Its not over until I SAY its over.” A very damaging/abusive mindset that more men than I wish were true have in mind with the women they’re dating. Also the fact that you can only get it off with a damned SCREWDRIVER instead of a fucking KEY is masculine/constricting in itself. That goes right back to my first point in saying:: YOU ARE FUCKING SLAPPING A HANDCUFF ON YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHERS WRIST WTF HOW DO YOU THINK THAT IS ACCEPTABLE OR ROMANTIC? O AO

I think it is romantic hat you can trust your partner enough with something like that, no matter if it’s the girl wearing it or the guy, or maybe both~
Idk im sappy like that.
It’s one of those things that are good for some couples but others may not like, but it doesn’t have the same meaning for everyone. :0
